• The National Human Genome ELSI page is part of the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) "originally established in 1989 as The National Center for Human Genome Research (NCHGR). • The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) "plans to study the ethical, legal, and social implications (ELSI) of the Environmental Genome Project. While the Environmental Genome Project has the potential to improve human health by improving our understanding of gene-environment interactions, there are a number of complex social, moral, and legal issues raised by the project. Some of these concerns relate to the protection of human subjects, the privacy of genetic information, and the possibility of discriminatory uses of the data generated by the project. • Department Of Energy ELSI home page is at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. The Department Of Energy Office of Science maintains a page for the Human Genome Project as well. DOE funds a number of national laboratories, some of which are involved in the Human Genome Project.

  Lawrence Berkleley National Laboratory (LBL) provides a web page, ELSI in Science. The " program is a pilot project designed to stimulate discussions on the implications of selected areas of scientific research. These modules probably will be most useful to educators and students at the middle school through high school level.
