NIH ELSI 1995 Awards

The following table has been taken from NIH files. It gives the overall expenditure for the NIH Human Genome Project. ELSI funding should be approximately 3%-5% of the total funding. This year 17 projects were funded. The total of the 12 known ELSI funded projects is $1,994,142, about 1.9% of the total $103,531,768. This does not include the 5 projects PBR-97, HG01168, HG00085, HG00165 and HG01168 for which funding levels have not yet been determined. PBR-97 was funded by the American cancer Society, not NIH.
